Bedside Manner

Your bedside manner goes a long way – good and bad – with your customers.

It doesn’t matter if you’re actually in sales, marketing or customer service, if you interface with clients you should have good bedside manner.

We condition our customers to expect certain things from us. Customers of large cable companies or cell phone providers are conditioned to expect bad customer service (and to pay a lot for it). Jimmy Johns has conditioned its customers to expect super fast delivery. Apple has condition its best customers to needlessly upgrade devices (and to wait in line to do it).

Question is, how have you conditioned your customers. And if you were your own customer, would you appreciate the way you treat yourself?
